Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes the rules and guidelines for using Citiwise's platform and services ("Services"). This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.

By using our Services, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your access to the Services.

1. General Principles

When using Citiwise, you agree to:

  • Use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Provide accurate and complete information when creating accounts and uploading content
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Respect the rights and privacy of others
  • Use the Services in a way that does not harm other users or our infrastructure

2. Prohibited Activities

You may not use the Services to:

2.1 Illegal Activities

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or legal obligation
  • Facilitate or promote illegal activities, including money laundering or fraud
  • Infringe upon intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, or patents
  • Violate the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 (RERA) or other real estate regulations
  • Misrepresent project details, RERA registration status, or regulatory compliance

2.2 Harmful Content

  • Upload, transmit, or distribute content that is defamatory, obscene, or offensive
  • Upload false, misleading, or deceptive content
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or other malicious code
  • Share content that harasses, threatens, or intimidates others
  • Upload content that violates the privacy of any person

2.3 Unauthorized Access and Security

  • Access or attempt to access accounts, systems, or data without authorization
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Services
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Services or servers
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data
  • Share account credentials or allow unauthorized access to your account

2.4 Abuse and Misuse

  • Use the Services in a way that could damage, disable, or impair them
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Services without written permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Services
  • Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Services
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide access to the Services without authorization
  • Use the Services to compete with Citiwise or develop competing products

2.5 Spam and Unsolicited Communications

  • Send spam, bulk unsolicited messages, or chain letters
  • Use the Services to harvest email addresses or contact information
  • Send communications to recipients who have not consented to receive them
  • Use features like WhatsApp sharing to send unwanted or harassing messages
  • Engage in phishing or social engineering attacks

2.6 Resource Abuse

  • Consume excessive bandwidth, storage, or processing resources
  • Upload excessively large files that impact service performance
  • Make excessive API requests that burden our infrastructure
  • Use the Services for cryptocurrency mining or similar resource-intensive activities

3. Content Standards

All content uploaded to the Services must:

  • Be accurate and not misleading, especially regarding project details and pricing
  • Not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
  • Comply with applicable advertising and consumer protection laws
  • Include required regulatory disclosures (e.g., RERA registration numbers)
  • Not contain personal data of individuals without proper consent
  • Not be used to deceive or defraud potential buyers

4. Real Estate Industry Compliance

As a platform serving real estate developers, we require that you:

  • Maintain valid RERA registration where required by law
  • Accurately represent project status, approvals, and regulatory compliance
  • Provide truthful information about project specifications, amenities, and timelines
  • Honor commitments made in offer letters and communications
  • Comply with consumer protection regulations applicable to real estate
  • Respect buyer rights and handle their data responsibly

5. Enforcement

We reserve the right to investigate violations of this AUP and take appropriate action, which may include:

  • Issuing warnings for minor or first-time violations
  • Removing or disabling access to content that violates this policy
  • Suspending access to the Services temporarily or permanently
  • Terminating your account
  • Reporting illegal activities to law enforcement authorities
  • Taking legal action to enforce our rights

The severity of our response will depend on the nature and circumstances of the violation. We may, but are not obligated to, provide notice before taking enforcement action.

6. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to:

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes may be communicated via email or through the Services. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
